News in today about Tofurky’s latest product to hit shelves. The companies latest burger product joins a long list of competitors already vying for meat free dollars. The ingredient list breaks down as follows, and is interesting in eschewing the use of pea protein which is so in vogue right now:
Water, soy protein concentrate, structured vegetable protein (soy protein isolate, wheat gluten, wheat starch), canola oil, wheat gluten, coconut oil, soy protein isolate, fermented corn sugar, natural flavor, modified cellulose, sea salt, natural colors, onion powder, granulated garlic, black pepper.
For now availability seems limited to the Midwest (Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and WisconsinÂ ) notably Meijer stores. Two patties come in the packaging and cooking time looks like just 3-4 minutes per side, not unlike Beyond.
